I know you but I don’t

You see me but you won’t

My side seems miles from yours

So far I can’t see the shores

To me, you seem impossible

Yet everything you do proves possible

The only bridge that connects us is thin

It seems neither of us can win

You make a big deal out of everything

It makes me feel like I should do nothing

Our fights rage across both land and sea

Tearing apart even me

Still, we have to try to keep our sanity

Care about something like humanity

Friends look on unable to stop

The fight that we just can’t drop

And even now I wish you’d come to your senses

And even now I hold up all of my defenses

But the tides have faded down

There is peace floating around

The world stays silent as we wait for a solution

Something that doesn’t cause someone else's execution

Maybe the answer is that there isn’t one

That there is no light, no sun

In our world, the bridge is the only thing that connects us

The sea is full of troubles and thus

We must leave it alone

Leave it to the unknown.

The pain cannot reach us if it’s miles away
